Choo's glamour

Rich textures of materials, sumptuous jewel tones and sparkling crystals make for glamorous accessories from Jimmy Choo's winter 2022 collection. Knotted up like presents, the shoes and handbags celebrate the season of giving.

"I was thinking about fantasy, about satisfaction, about desire, and about the idea of generosity, of giving gifts. Maybe to other people, maybe to yourself," said creative director Sandra Choi. "Spanning the winter and holiday seasons, this collection needs to be both fresh and opulent, offering newness but also satisfying the annual desire for extravagant displays, to feel and look beautiful."

Throughout the collection, bows are a leitmotif. Elinor slingback pumps feature a folded bow design while asymmetrical Aveline sandals and Averly pumps are decorated with two oversized bows that are intricately woven, hand tied and sewn on for a dramatic finish.

In lustrous velvet, Flaca sandals have butterfly bows perched at ankle and vamp. The two versions stand out in rich red or a contrast of candy pink and fuchsia. Black velvet bows knot up the Flaca booties and mules, crafted from a combination of black suede and mesh, and adorned with crystals.

A pearl and crystal-embellished bow graces the Love pumps, in Latte nappa or black suede, designed with a dramatic point toe, high-cut vamp and set on a thin stiletto heel.

"I consider everything we create to be a gift, a tribute to our Jimmy Choo community. This season, we decided to explore that notion and tie it all up with a bow," said Choi.

The satin Cloud clutch in wisteria and velvet Bon Bon bags also adopt the bow as their key decoration. Playful variations include the Micro Cloud clutch with an oversized Aveline mesh bow and Bon Bon with lavish swaying fringes, elongating the silhouette of the bag like how Jimmy Choo shoes attenuate a woman's silhouette.

Wisteria blooms in this winter collection, with other purple items including leather Bing mules with a crystal strap, slick Giome sock-knit platform boots, and satin Bonny bag designed with a soft twisted handle.
